Acronyms in English Education

As an English teacher living abroad Canada, I am often asked if I teach ESL. In fact, I teach EFL, and there is a simple explanation of the ESL (English as a Second Language), where English is taught and learned in a country which is an English speaking country. On the other hand, EFL (English as a foreign language) is taught and learned in a non-English speakers. Then learn English EFL in Japan and Canada Learning English is ESL.
